Dec. 4, 2013

To our brethren in the Lord who congregate at the Julian Avenue location in the city of Lakeside. Mercy, grace and peace from the Lord Jesus the Christ. The Lord bless each of you in your walk in the Lord.

We want to thank the Lord for being good to us. This past month our daughter April had surgery to remove a tumor from her right hip area. It has been growing slowly for about 4 years but due to a lack of health insurance, she had to put it off until now. The operation went without any problems and now we are just waiting for the results of the lab work. So far nothing negative has come to light. The Lord will have the last word.

Martha was able to fly up and be with April for 9 days. She came home yesterday. We know that in cases like these, there is nothing like having "mom" close by. We are very proud of April because during all this time she had to carry that growth (20 lbs) she never complained to us nor did it dampen her joyful spirit. We thank the Lord.

The work here in Mexicali goes forth. The church is small but spiritually healthy. We

congregate on Sundays with the resolve to meet the desires of our God. We remember our Lord's death and we blend our voices in praise to His Holy Name.

This past Sunday, Andres, our young brother, was in charge of teaching the class. We are looking at the Book of Jude. The men are taking turns with the Sunday class. Our younger members are given the work of teaching from short books such as II John and Jude. They are nervous but we are there to help them get their "feet wet". So far so good.

In our Wednesday evening class, we will be finishing the book of Psalms tonight. I will be giving two more classes to wrap up the study. As we come to the end, it seems that the Psalms reach a crescendo of sorts. Personally, the book has been a great blessing in that it teaches me to bless our God, with everything we have. I've been able to construct several sermons from the book.

In Calexico, the sisters continue to grow in the faith. For many years, their understanding of God was veiled by the evil one. As we study the book of Matthew the concept of "mercy, love and faith" is coming to the forefront of their knowledge. They seem so much happier and calmer than when we first started to meet with them. May the Lord open their eyes to our Good God. Our Lord can not tolerate evil, but His love for His creation was such that He sent His Son to die for us.

We are meeting on Thursday evening again in Calexico for an open study.

This past month, our brothers Peter Alvarado and Glauco Gonzalez came over to preach to us from Wednesday to Sunday the 24th. The first night Glauco preached to us for 1 hour and 10 minutes, but the subject matter was so well presented that we wanted more. May God continue to bless them.

Very well brethren, the Lord bless you,

                                      Your brother in His service,

Raymond Gonzalez
