From the Gonzalez Family in Mexicali to our beloved in Christ who live and serve the Lord Jesus in the city of Lakeside: Greetings in the Lord Jesus the Christ. It is with great joy that we report the work God in this area. It was a pleasure to be with you this past Sunday. Thank you for your good comments and love for us.
Rejoice with us brethren for we have a new brother in Christ. On the 19th of March, Juan Leyva was buried with Christ being baptized in His Name for the remission of sins. I met Juan at the track where I run in the morning. He is the 5th person from the track that has obeyed the gospel. We have been in a study with Juan for about a year and a half and I longed so much for his obedience. Our other friend, Alejandro who also runs with us, studies with us, but does not feel he is ready yet, but he is all for going forth with our classes. Pray for him. We all have many issues that keep us from obeying God, but from God's point of view, they are minor in comparison with the reward or the punishment. There are two other visitors that need our prayers, Maria de Jesus and Sylvia Delgado. Both are coming regularly and have requested our prayers.
The church in Mexicali continues congregating on the first day of the week to eat the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Him. We also study from His Word. Brother Jesus Uribe has been teaching from the book of Titus. It will now be Brother Jesus Ayon's turn to teach a class. He will be teaching from I John. Brother Andres Hernandez has been leading the congregation in song and he also preaches once every 3 months. All of these men are taking their baby steps. We as a congregation must be patient with them as I remember very well how merciful other brethren were with me and continue to be.
On our Wednesday evening studies, we are now in Psalms 131. We plan to shift over to one of the Minor prophets, Hosea after we finish up with Psalms.
In Calexico, the church goes forth steady. We have been blessed with a visitor who seems very interested in obeying the Lord. Her name is Carmen, daughter of Sister Rosalinda Cerros. In our Sunday morning study, we are now in Matthew 9.
A very sad note to report also. My friend Alejandro (another Alex), whom I studied with for about a year, passed away from a massive heart attack. In most of our studies, he always doubted about God. It seemed that he wanted to believe, but he just could not get himself to trust God. It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God with your sins still with you.
Finally beloved, pray for me. Pray that we can continue to have the health and strength to carry out the great work here. There are so many people who are very religious, yet know nothing or very little about the God of Abraham. Time is so precious because it goes so fast.
The Lord Bless you. Your brother in His service,
Even our dog "Chango" was happy.
Rejoice with us brethren and keep in mind that it is to your account. rg.
