Raymond Gonzalez P.O. Box 1453 Calexico, Ca. 92232 July 4, 2011 To our beloved in the Lord who serve Him in the city of Lakeside: Greetings in the Lord Jesús the Christ. The church here and in other places thank God and you for your support that allows me to visit and share our knowledge of God with them. Here in Mexicali we meet on Sundays to remember the death of our Lord. We eat of the bread and drink of the fruit of the vine that reminds us of His body and blood. Our Lord told His disciples that it was necessary that He die for us. May our life be a continual act of thanks for such love. At this time we are still in John chapter 3. We would like to move a little faster but it is not easy. There is so much to learn from our Lord´s meeting with Nicodemus. On Wednesday evenings we are moving right along. We are now in Nehemíah chapter 9. Each chapter has taught us great things of our God. One of them is that we should always be "rejoicing in the Lord". We have much to be happy about. Even in the worst of times, such as the remnant that returned to rebuild the temple, God wants them to rejoice! The plan is still on, the Lord is coming and God has not left His people! Our classes with brethren and friends continue. This last month we had to cancel here and there due to graduations and visiting relatives. Our classes with Juan, his wife and Alejandro continue. Our class in Calexico with Sister Margarita and her daughter changes from Tuesdays to Thursdays but they go on. We have had some lively talks about God´s mercy and forgiving those that sin, but by reading the Word, the controversies end.. at least on the table. Pretty hard to argue with the written Word. From the 22 through the 26th I traveled to Hermosillo and speak to the brethren there from the Law of Moses. The title of the series was "Jesus in the Law of Moses.." from Luc.24:44-47. My goal is to try and get rid of the negative attitude that some brethren have of the Old Testament. Yes, I know that it has been "erased, abrogated, done away with, wiped out, nailed, abolished and taken away.." etc. But Jesus says that "Moses wrote of me.." John 5:46 and His apostle says that it serves as an example and is to fortify our hope.. Rom.15:4 and I Cor.10:11. While I was there I did some work on the air-conditioning units at the building. I know how to do that and one of the machines was not working properly and it was already very hot and humid. When I left Mexicali I had the flu and I came back with it. Only until today do I feel more or less well. I had a nasty cough and I just felt like I had no strength. We continue to visit Tecate and Boulevard on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Very well our beloved, once again thank you and the Lord bless you. In His service, Raymond Gonzalez
